Wood, Metal and Matter
Judy Callas’ work focuses on nature and time. Her medium is ever changing; paint, clay, printmaking, metal, wood, and more recently, the assemblage of found objects. And most of late painting with textures. Nature has always been a focus in her work. As a child she created and collected “things”, now she assembles life’s artifacts, re-purposing them into mixed-media pieces to invoke the human spirit and examine the effects of time. She is arts educator at SCH Academy in Philadelphia. Judy resides in Wyncote, PA with her husband, and three young children and ol’ two cats.
